THE STORY

The Cluster is located in Malawi's Thyolo District; an area with high poverty and poor access to food markets

In 2023, five people came together with three goals. To restore the self-confidence of the community, to develop resilience against economic challenges and to shape the future of the community and country.

WHAT THEY'RE DOING

Increasing the capacity of small holder farmers

The Cluster formed a farmers cooperative which has 137 members. Here, they learn from one another and look for ways to improve their community together

Creating Employment

Through producing and selling their farming products, community members are earning an income

Providing healthy and affordable food

The farmers cooperative is focused on producing groundnuts, a legume rich in protein and vitamins and affordable to the average household.
